A credit union is an ethical financial co-operative that is owned and run by its members who save together and have access to loans at a fair and reasonable rate of interest. It is controlled by a board of directors elected from the membership and is run on a day-to-day basis by a team of dedicated volunteers. Members of a credit union must have a “common bond”. In Gleniffer Credit Union it is that they all live or work in the PA1, PA2 & PA3 areas of Paisley.
